If we carry on the example from the prior tip, it’s still necessary to set follow actions for the variation clips. The idea is to have a group of clips that heavily favor the main beat, with only an occasional variation.
It’s not going to work to use the original Follow Action for the 3 variations because it’s too random. Instead, let’s favor returning to the original beat, but add a twist:
What we’ve got to here is are 3:1 odds that the variation clip will launch the First clip in the gorup (the main beat). Otherwise it will launch the Next clip in the group, so the variation will be extended.
When the last clip is launched, however…
…it will always return to the main beat, because firing the Next action when at the bottom of a group causes the the first clip to be launched.
