Another way to make tempo jumps is to simply turn off the Warp switch on a clip that is currently playing back.
For example, bars 89-105 in the song below are a perfect place to jump to a new tempo because the song drops down to an ambient interlude.
So, when the song gets to bar 89, turn off the Warp switch, change Live’s master tempo, then drop in the next song.
However, before you turn of the Warp switch make sure the song is playing back at its original tempo. This is very important. If the song is originally 107 BPM and you’re playing it back at 109, adjust Live’s master tempo to 107 before turning off Warp. If you don’t there will be an obvious hiccup at the moment you unwarp the song.
