When you open a Set and see the dreaded words “Sample Offline” where a clip’s waveform display should be, it’s time to get the File Manager involved. There are all sorts of scenarios we could discuss here, but here’s a quick and easy tip.
Sometimes you know that all files were collected into the Project folder, but still the Set shows missing files when it’s opened up. To fix this, open up the File Manager (from the File menu), and hit the Manage Set button.
Next, give the Locate button a click:
Now all you gotta do is configure the Automatic Search area to look for the missing files within the Project folder, and nowhere else. (Live’s search functions can be painfully slow, so it’s important to narrow the search area as much as possible.)
Click Go. Pow! Files found, awesomeness ensues.
